HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Here's the X-mas card I made for my friends and family this year. It's the painted version of the drawing I did for them last year plus an additional image for the back of the card, which was drawn by me and painted by my wife, Erin Gallagher. Hope everyone had a great holiday and has a fantastic New Year!

WEDDING FAVORS


My friend, writer Matthew K. Manning, was one of the million people I know (including myself) who tied the knot this year. For a wedding favor, he gave each guest a comic that told the story of how he and his wife met and the events that led up to their proposal and marriage. He wrote the script, then "commissioned" his artist friends to each draw a page. Since we've been good friends for so long, of course we all said "yes". But mainly it was because he had some kind of dirt on all of us that he threatened to expose if we said "no" (I still don't know how he found out where I buried those bodies).

The above image is of the pencils and inks I turned in. It was then colored by our friend Rob Donnelly and lettered by our other friend Cory Petit. I've never worked this way before, so it was very cool to see other people finish the piece and create the final product. The whole thing turned out great and it was a lot of fun to be a part of. LEGION OF SUPERHEROES

These were done for a Legion of Superheroes jam piece with some friends of mine. The girl character is called "Princess Projectra" and the dude is called "Sunboy". Yeah, I don't know who they are either.

Hey, everyone! It's Slimer, everyone's favorite little green ghost. And if he's not your favorite... then.. you're a communist. Or at least a socialist. I've been hearing that's about the worst thing you can be.

So, anyway..it's been quite a while since I posted on here. Been pretty busy with work and stuff, which is a good thing, of course. But even more importantly, I was getting married! Man-oh-man, wedding planning is a time consuming endeavor! The wedding and honeymoon were both crazy-awesome but now it's back to reality. And now that I'm getting back into the swing of things I figured it was about time to finally post something again.

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween. And if you're going to put the candy away like our friend Slimer up there, please, chew it better than he does.

COLBERT and the 3 BEARS (final version)

So here's the final version of the Stephen Colbert painting I posted a couple of weeks ago (you can scroll down to see it and to read about my brief encounter with him). I actually rescanned it and then did some tweaking in Photoshop, but not as much as a thought I was going to at first. The first person to spot the differences between this version and the one previously posted gets a prize!*

*There will be no prizes given.

WATERCOLOR STUDY

Here's another watercolor study I did as a kind of a warm up before moving on to something more involved. It's from a photo I had of my fiancè, Erin Gallagher. It seems like she's annoyed at something off camera. Probably me. But that's what she gets for trying to read instead of paying attention to me.

More Martian Manhunter goodness. Here's a sketch of him enjoying his favorite snack, Oreos, not those imitations, "Chocos", he has to eat in the comics. And look how happy he is to have the real thing.
