COLBERT and the 3 BEARS (final version)

So here's the final version of the Stephen Colbert painting I posted a couple of weeks ago (you can scroll down to see it and to read about my brief encounter with him). I actually rescanned it and then did some tweaking in Photoshop, but not as much as a thought I was going to at first. The first person to spot the differences between this version and the one previously posted gets a prize!*

*There will be no prizes given.

WATERCOLOR STUDY

Here's another watercolor study I did as a kind of a warm up before moving on to something more involved. It's from a photo I had of my fiancè, Erin Gallagher. It seems like she's annoyed at something off camera. Probably me. But that's what she gets for trying to read instead of paying attention to me.
ICE COLD MILK and AN OREO COOKIE

More Martian Manhunter goodness. Here's a sketch of him enjoying his favorite snack, Oreos, not those imitations, "Chocos", he has to eat in the comics. And look how happy he is to have the real thing.

MARTIAN MANHUNTER

Just a quick watercolor sketch of Martian Manhunter. I've always liked this character and he's also one of my fiancè's favorites.

Colbert and the 3 Bears

Hey everybody! How've you been? So, I know I haven't posted in some while but that doesn't mean I haven't been working on stuff. The above is a piece I've been working on for a while. It depicts Stephen Colbert relaxing after taking care of a small but dangerous portion of America's bear problem. It's actually just a raw scan that still needs a little of that Photoshop magic but I wanted to post something.

I also wanted to post it because I actually met Mr.Colbert tonight at a signing for his new book "I Am America (And So Can You!)" and gave him a print of it as a gift. It was pretty cool, actually, because as he was putting it with some other stuff he had received, he stopped to look at it closer and said it was "beautiful" and thanked me for it. Also, he wasn't personalizing the books, so he wasn't asking anyone's name but as he was signing it he asked me mine. I said "Tom" and then he said "What's your last name?" So I told him. Then he thanked me again and said "It was nice meeting you". At least I think so because I kind of blanked out at that point.

Anyway, sorry for the long post and even though I'm sure reading about this brief encounter wasn't nearly as cool as it felt, I just thought I'd share. And I'll post the final, touched up version next week. I swear.

Here comes DAREDEVIL (in color)

These are the color versions of the black and white wash drawings I posted a couple weeks ago. And that's that.

X-CATS
Oh no! Mumra and Magneto have teamed up to conquer the Earth, for some reason! Only the combined efforts of the X-Men and the Thundercats can possibly stop them! But will they prevail or will their judgemental views of each other be their downfall?!

>Ahem< Sorry about that. On a side note, if it were socially acceptable, I would comb my hair like Lion-O's or Wolverine's. Or maybe even a combination of the two. And you would too. Admit it.

DAREDEVIL

Here are couple of Daredevil wash drawings I did recently. I had the idea for the moon/halo visual but couldn't decide between the two different compostions and lighting, so I did both. I'm working on coloring both of them now so I'll post them up soon too. Enjoy.

THE RHINO and SPIDER-MAN

It's been quite some time since my last post so I wanted to post more than just one measly piece. So I posted two measly pieces. And I intend to finish and post at least one drawing like this a week (sometimes even if color!) in between longer term projects. So check in often to see what I post and feel free to leave your comments. Feedback is always welcome. Huzzah!
